Ground-up NASA redesign

For decades, NASA agencies and programs tackled their web presence independently, leading to over 3,000 divergent websites. Blink has developed a comprehensive design system, and content strategy that prioritizes user needs, web accessibility, and storytelling.

I have the privilege of directing an extremely talented multi-disciplinary team providing Research, Design, Content Strategy, SEO, and Accessibility consulting services for this Planet Centered Design project.

After 2 years of research and design, we have delivered an extremely beautiful and robust design system and visual language that modernizes and unifies NASA in a way that feels authentic to the brand and is an extension of the rich history of NASA design.

Interactive Feature: NASA: 24 Hours on the ISS

 

NASA TV Research, Strategy & Design

Designing a delightful, modern, cross-platform experience for the next-generation NASA TV.

Design Brief:

NASA seeks to transition NASA Television from traditional, linear 24/7 “channels” distributed over satellite to a robust, on-demand, nonlinear streaming service distributed via terrestrial networks to multiple internal and external platforms, including consumer over-the-top (OTT) and internet-accessible devices.

NASA Eyes on Solar System

Blink provided creative direction and user experience design for the new Eyes on the Solar System Application. This included a redesign of the existing interface as well as  design of a storytelling presentation mode (scrollytelling). Blink also offered creative direction for the motion/animation to create a more cinematic experience without compromising any technical detail or scientific accuracy.
